Five Steps to 9.65.
Locate the Installer
Find TradingExpertPro965.exe in your Downloads folder, or search your PC for the file name.
Double-Click to Run
If the Windows protected your PC message appears, select More info, then Run anyway.
Seeing InstallShield error 432? The install may already be running from right after the download finished. Cancel any open installs and start again — ideally after a reboot.
Allow the Changes
If Windows asks "Do you want the following program from an unknown publisher to make changes to this computer?", click Yes.
Follow the On-Screen Prompts
The installer includes every TradingExpert Pro file you need. Once it unpacks, installation begins — just follow the prompts and pick your install type:
Adds any S&P 500 tickers you may be missing. Your existing data is never overwritten.
Installs the program files only — no additional data.
Launch TradingExpert Pro
When the install completes, you'll have a TradingExpert Pro program group and a desktop icon that opens the Main Menu. You're ready to go.
What's in This Upgrade · New Chart Type
Heikin-Ashi Charts. The Trend, Smoothed.
Heikin-Ashi (also spelled Heiken-Ashi) is Japanese for "average bar." It makes candlestick charts easier to read, so trends are easier to spot and to forecast.
Traders use Heikin-Ashi to stay in a trade while a trend persists — and to exit when it pauses or reverses. Since most profits come from trending markets, reading the trend accurately is essential.
Because each bar averages the movement, Heikin-Ashi looks noticeably smoother. Candles tend to stay red through a downtrend and green through an uptrend, while conventional candlesticks keep alternating colors even when price is mostly moving one way.
New Chart Type · Seasonality
Seasonality Charts. The Calendar's Edge.
The Seasonality chart shows the percentage change of any ticker across multiple years on a single chart, with the multi-year average plotted alongside the current year.
- Easily toggle up to 15 years of data on or off.
- Add or remove the average line with one click.
- Use the date key to change the chart's right-hand date — the percentage scale adjusts automatically.

The Ridiculous Seasonality of AMD
In his May 2020 article The Ridiculous Seasonality of AMD, Jay Kaeppel identified a remarkably consistent bullish window: October trading day 19 through May trading day 21.
"AMD is one of the most consistently 'cyclical' stocks you may ever find."
Reading the AIQ Seasonality Chart
The vertical cursor sits on the 19th trading day of October; the right-hand date is set to the 21st trading day of May.
Eight trading years (2013–2020) are overlaid, with the average line in white and the vertical scale showing percentage change. The seasonal trend Jay describes is plain to see.

Beyond the new chart types, this upgrade fixes bugs, cleans up expired service elements, and adds a more robust key-number system that avoids key errors caused by operating-system or other changes.
Installation Improvements
- Visual Studio 2013 install is no longer necessary.
- Visual Studio 2005 is installed only if needed.
- DAO is installed only if needed.
- Obsolete desktop shortcut icons removed.

- Seasonality Charts — overlay multiple years of a single ticker to spot year-over-year patterns in price activity.
- AIQ key-number system now handled seamlessly and immune to OS changes.
- Holiday table retired — data for any trading day across different country markets downloads correctly.
Bugs Fixed
- In the Charts Control Panel list Explore view, the top-level list name no longer tries to open as a ticker. The list name shows in a lighter grey than its symbols (black, or white if the ticker is inactive or missing).
- Help pages now launch from all products.
Removed for Clarity & Focus
- All real-time products: Real Time Alerts, NASDAQ Level II, Quotes and Barometer, Historical Real Time, and myTrackEdge.
- AIQALL list and its member group and sector data files.
- AutoChartist Chart Patterns toolbar — this third-party add-on is no longer available.
- Fundamentals are no longer prominent in Charts.
